Exactly what we know about you

A page you can check for yourself: everything here describes what the product actually does, not what a privacy policy is supposed to say.

01What this page covers

This policy covers the Zork Empire Discord bot and its web dashboard. The two work together and read one database, so what applies to either applies to both.

It does not cover Discord itself. When you use Discord you are also under Discord's policy, and we only ever see what Discord lets you share with us.

02What we collect

We never ask you to type personal information. Everything we hold arrives one of two ways: you sign in with Discord, or you play inside a server the bot is in.

  • Your Discord account: the numeric id, your username, your avatar, and your preferred language if you change it.
  • The list of servers you manage — we ask Discord for it when you sign in, so we know which servers you may configure. We do not keep it; it is read when needed.
  • Your progress, separately in each server: balance, level, experience, inventory, job, gang, timers, and a record of what you have played.
  • Moderation records when they apply to you: warnings and their reasons, and staff actions — visible to that server's staff.
  • The content of your messages inside an open support ticket channel, saved as a transcript for that server's staff to read. This is the only place we store the text of a message.
  • An operational record of what happened: commands that ran and currency movements, used to trace faults and settle disputes.

03What we do not collect

This list is not a set of general promises — every line on it can be checked, either from the code or from a page you open yourself.

  • Not your email address. We do not even ask Discord for it — our scope is identify and guilds, which you can see on the consent screen before you approve — and there is nowhere in our database to store it.
  • Not your ordinary messages. The bot reads messages to do its job, but stores their text only inside an open support ticket. Deleted messages shown by the snipe command live in memory alone and are gone at the next restart.
  • No trackers, no advertising, no third-party analytics. The site loads no third-party script at all — no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, nothing of the kind.
  • No payment details. There is no payment provider in the product; plans are bought with in-game currency.
  • We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.

04Why we keep it

To run what you asked for: so the bot knows who you are, remembers your progress in the server you are playing in, and so the dashboard shows you your servers rather than somebody else's.

And for two further reasons: letting each server's staff run their own server, and diagnosing faults. We do not use it for a third purpose.

05Cookies

We set one session cookie when you sign in, and it is what keeps you signed in between pages. The site does not work without it.

And no others: no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no cross-site tracking. That is why there is no cookie consent banner on this site — there is nothing to consent to.

06How long we keep it

Anything that grows over time has a fixed window in the code and is deleted automatically once it passes. These are the real windows:

  • Casino rounds and short-lived trade offers: seven days.
  • Heists, auctions, expeditions and arena matches: thirty to ninety days depending on the kind.
  • The currency ledger and market trades: one hundred and eighty days.
  • The dashboard action log: fourteen days.
  • Your profile and game progress: kept for as long as you play, and deleted if you ask.

07Who sees your data

The staff of the server you play in see what belongs to that server: your balance and level there, your warnings, and your ticket transcript if you opened one. They see nothing from another server — the data is separated per server.

Beyond that: Discord, because the product runs on it. No other third party. We may have to disclose data if the law requires it, and that has not happened.

08Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted. Contact us the way described at the end of this page — your Discord account id is all we need to find your data.

And you can always stop: leave the server, or revoke the application from your Discord settings. Deleting your account deletes your game progress with it, and that cannot be undone.

09Age

Discord's terms require you to be at least thirteen — more in some countries. This service follows the same requirement, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone below it. If we learn of such an account, we delete its data.

10Changes to this page

If what we collect or why we collect it changes, this page changes and the date at the top changes with it. The date moves when the meaning moves, not with every deployment.

How to reach a person

For any question about this page, to ask for a copy of your data or its deletion, or to dispute a suspension — write to the address below. You can also open a support request inside the dashboard once you are signed in.
